Amazing shop, beside some great vinyl I bought some vintage Gefell mikes they used as decoration....

arrogant and shitty service!

I bought about 12 movies there. I asked them about coding. They told me it will work fine. When I came home, it did not. Some of the dvd's looked like they were thrown in a lions cage. When I complained, they just told me "bad luck..". I hope they go bankrupt. They are assholes.. with a lot of nerve.

The bad news: They are not friendly and they sell all for about the same prize.
The good news: I didn't came to make friends and they don't know what they have!! So i found a sealed version of Marvin Gaye's Stubborn Kinda Fellow on vinyl as wel as a very rare Aphex Twin etc.

So get my point, you need to know your stuff and start gold digging for a day or 2 there to be able to appreciate it.

Overpriced shit.. also very bad service..

Drittbutikk! Frekk og sur betjening! Kanskje de burde finne seg noe annet å holde på med... kjøper ting til slikk og ingenting og selger det til fire-fem ganger så mye.. har du noe de ikke vil ha så blir de nesten sur på deg.. jeez!

this store is just ridiculous. i have no other words for it.

Agree with the comments here - prices are ridiculous for stuff that isn't always in great condition. I've looked in here for various used CDs and found brand new copies at a cheaper price in the mainstream store Platekompaniet! I've also sold records here, got 150 kr for one particular LP and later saw they had it on sale for 350 kr. A good choice of stuff but only as a last resort - you will usually find what you want much cheaper elsewhere or on eBay etc. When I sold some CDs once the staff complained that they were drowning in CDs and couldn't take any more - well drop the crazy prices and you might sell some more!

Absolutely too pricey!!! There´s no grading of the records. I have bought records there that sounds shite. You´ll often find the same records they sell for 100 NOK (or 99,50) at the bargain boxes in the other second hand stores. Often in better shape than at r@kk & R@lls. I´ve heard that infact they sometimes buy records at other second hand shops and double the price, ha ha...I sometimes shop there, but... Beware!

Sure true that it is exprensive and the staff maybe ain't the friendliest, but There aren't that many that big record shops in Oslo. and, as someone else already pointed out, lot of good punk!!

Written by Amalie at 2010-08-07 11:29:24

As others have commented it is very expensive. In addition the service is horrible. I bought records for 1000 NOK and specifically asked about the once I bought if they were original first press. They confirmed that it indeed they were. I figured that made sense with the prices, but later discovered that half of them were reprints (and the rest were first press from Sweden, but my fault for not pointing out the obvious I guess). When I went back the next day to return half they just laughed at me for thinking I could return goods. They offered to be "nice" with me and let me sell the records back for the regular price they would pay. Needless to say I declined. I have later talked with people at other record stores in Oslo and they have all confirmed my experience. The staff are jerks. They'll lie to you to get a sale, and they don't care about Norwegian consumer rights when you try to return stuff. Avoid this shop. There are other great places in Oslo to buy vinyl, like Bjørn Ringstrøms Antikvariat, Lucky Eddie, Spøk og Spenning and Big Dipper for new stuff.

I visited this shop a few days ago, and it's like Portland, Oregon-kinda stuff. Very cool, but when I tried to buy a hole cd Live through this, I just couldn't afford it.
Yeah, a little bit too expensive...
but a nice store, I'm sure if you'd lower your prices a bit youll get more customers who actually bought something.

Absolutt bra butikk!
Også stor forbedring i det nye Lokale. kan finne alt mulig rart liksom =)
Funnet mye klassikere og ting man til vanlig ikke kommer over på Råkk&Råll! =)

Dyr, jävla butik!

Written by Peter at 2010-03-19 15:10:24

Very cool store. Their Scandinavian selection is huge, especially the Norwegian artists. Prices are to high, they should be around 20% lower.

Written by at 2010-03-04 15:30:25

Absolute awesome store. There is a lot to find. Second hand prices are a bit to high, but you will find something you can use.
