I was appalled seeing the store assistant smoking behind the counter. I haven't been back since 2006. With such a slovenly attitude I doubt I'd ever go back

Ashwood's are a Sydney institution for second hand records. Now open Sundays 12 noon - 4PM. I have been shopping there for over 20 years, from their old store at the bottom end of Pitt Street. Whilst the range is not as great as it was 20 years ago, when people were literally dumping their LPs for CDs, it is still one of the best in Sydney, and treasures are there to be picked out after a diligent search. Although they have wised up to the price of collectibles, which they list on their eBay store, collectors with a fair idea of what the LPs are worth won't be ripped off. The stale tobacco smell remain though!
